  1. What is a secured card?  

    A secured card is just like a regular credit card except that it requires an initial deposit. The size of your deposit will be your credit limit.

  2. Why would I use a secured card?  

    Secured cards give you the power to build your credit with the freedom to spend. It’s the tool you need to build credit safely, easily, and affordably. One of the benefits of the Refresh secured card is that we don't do any credit checks. Your approval is guaranteed!

  3. How do I see my account details and balance owing?  

    When you sign into the online dashboard, you can see your available and owing balance. You can also contact us directly at 1-800-746-4840 to confirm your balance. If you haven’t logged into your account for a while, note that your username is your email address, and you create or reset your password.

  4. How do I make a payment?  

    You can make a one-time payment online through the Refresh website or make a bill payee payment through your online banking. Here’s where you can make your payments.

  5. How do I increase my limit?  

    You can increase your limit by contacting us at 1-800-746-4840 or by emailing (email works best). Then you will make a payment on your account for the increased amount. Here’s where you can make your payments.

  6. I'm in Quebec, can I get this card?  

    Yes, we now offer our secured card to Quebec residence!

  7. How long until I can expect to see results on my credit score?  

    We report to TransUnion and Equifax every month. However, as a new client, it can take up to 90 days for you to see your credit card on the credit bureaus.

  8. Why does it take up to 30 business days for me to get my security deposit refunded prior to activation?  

    The deposit refund of a cancelled card (prior to activation) can take up to 30 business days because of the privacy and security measures that we observe before sending money.

  9. What ID do I need to apply for your Secured Card?  

    In order to be approved for the Refresh secured card, you will need to provide valid government photo ID.

  10. I got declined, now what?

  11. I applied but never heard back!  

    If you submitted an application, but haven’t received a response from us, please send an email to, or call 1-800-746-4840 during business hours; 7am – 5pm Pacific Standard Time.

  12. Does Refresh offer an unsecured credit card?  

    Refresh does not currently offer any type of unsecured credit card. We currently only offer a secured card designed to help you build your credit easily and affordably.

  13. What is card processing time vs card mailing time?  

    Our processing period is the time it takes for us to ensure against identity theft, fraud, or money laundering.
