How can I get in touch with Refresh Financial?

The best way to get in touch is to email your Relationship Manager. If it’s after hours, they will get back to you first thing the next business day. Alternatively, you can call 1.800.746.4840 followed by your Relationship Manager’s extension number. Again, if it’s after hours, leave a voicemail and your call will be returned ASAP.

How does the Refresh credit builder loan work?

You’re probably already familiar with how the loan works, but here’s a quick reminder! With a cash secured savings loan, the proceeds of the loan are held for you in a savings account while you pay it off. As you build equity with your monthly payments (once the commitment fee is paid off), you can access portions of the savings or wait until the entire program is paid off and take the proceeds in one lump sum. Your payments each month are reported to the credit bureaus and it appears on your credit report as an installment loan.

When does my credit start reporting?

Your repayment history will begin reporting to the credit bureaus within 90 days of starting your account with Refresh Financial, so don’t panic if you don’t see it there right away.

How can I monitor my score?

Refresh has a credit monitoring product that can be added to your account at any time. It’s the perfect way to keep an eye on your financial identity. Our credit monitoring service gives you unlimited access to your credit report (without showing up as an inquiry and hurting your score!). Most importantly, it has a credit alert feature that lets you know if there is any suspicious activity related to your account. Monitoring your credit history is the smart way to manage your finances!

How can I access my information?

The Refresh Dashboard is your most valuable resource when it comes to managing your credit building solutions. In your Dashboard you will be able to view your account balance, payment history, make additional payments, and even request any equity you have built up.

Loan Protection Plan (optional)

The optional Loan Protection Plan is a Credit Group Insurance Plan underwritten by Canadian Premier Life. If you have signed up for the optional Loan Protection Plan, a portion of your regularly scheduled payments goes towards LPP. The Loan Protection Plan offers our clients peace of mind when faced with illness, injury, death, or loss of employment. In order to ensure you receive maximum benefit from the Loan Protection Plan, it’s important that you fully understand the benefits and where to access information when needed. We would like to review the information you have already received to reinforce our support and your understanding of the Loan Protection Plan.

Key information such as the cost of the insurance, the coverage benefits and how to submit a claim are in the applications, certificate of insurance and the summary of coverage you were provided when you finalized your loan documents.
