Demar DeRozan is Building Credit

I'm a big Raptors fan. I remember being a kid in summer camp, getting the news that Vince Carter had re-signed; it felt like Christmas. I also remember the standard heartbreak of watching your sports idol leave town. I remember it with Chris Bosh a few years later.

Since he joined the team, Demar DeRozan is (in this bloggers opinion) under appreciated. But when Bosh left, Derozan tweeted this:

Drafted only a year before, Demar was still carving out his niche. Keep in mind, the shooting guard was only averaging 8.9 points that season.

Fast forward seven years, and Demar is a two-time all star and a member of the U.S Olympic team. When Demar re-signed with the Raptors this week, he said this:

“Since I’ve been here, my whole goal, since I first got here... to make this whole city and this whole country be known. It’s like we always got the short end of the stick. I always took pride and passion in wanting to change that.”

This attitude and passion is exactly why we're talking about the Toronto Raptors in a finance blog.
