It seems this time of year, everywhere you look are pumpkins. Pennies per portion, cooking with pumpkin is cheap when they’re in season. If you can find a recipe or two that you and your family likes, pumpkins can offer you affordable meals and snacks all autumn long. It makes a pretty nutritional food source, as well. This year, why not try cooking with pumpkin? Here are a ton of pumpkin recipes your whole family will love! Just puree your pumpkin, and use it where canned pumpkin is called for!
To puree your pumpkin:
Step one: Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
Step two: Remove that stringy mess of seeds and guts.
Step three: Cut your pumpkin into large chunks.
Step four: Cover the flesh side with foil and place them foil side up on a baking sheet.
Step five: Bake until tender (usually around an hour).
Step six: Scrape out the pumpkin flesh and puree in a blender.
Step seven: Strain to get rid of any stubborn chunks!
